Maintenance Technician

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Vice President, Manufacturing, this role will ensure the proper care and maintenance of all company owned, leased, or rented facilities, equipment, and grounds. This position will be take part in new construction projects, renovations, and facility improvements. This position works with the manufacturing team to achieve a safe and highly efficient production environment.

Principal accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

  • General maintenance and repair of buildings, facilities, equipment and grounds.
  • Develop and maintain schedules for preventative maintenance.
  • Keep maintenance records for all equipment.
  • Work with operations manager and the production team to resolve maintenance issues in a timely manner with minimal disturbance to factory output.
  • Provides a variety of work with maintenance, which includes carpentry, electrical, plumbing, welding, and mechanical trouble shooting and repair.
  • Effectively use a variety of hand and power tools, operate a forklift, skid loader, and tractor.
  • Maintain all first aid stations.
  • Ensure that outside contractors follow all established safety guideline and use proper PPE.

Ideal Candidate will possess the following skill/qualities:

  • Carpentry – Acute understanding of carpentry practices, methods, and standards.
  • Electrical – Performs basic electrical installation and repair work in wiring for switches, outlets plugs, cables, equipment, and inspects electrical systems for unsafe conditions.
  • Plumbing – Identifies and performs basic repairs of plumbing leaks or clogs, maintains and monitors septic systems.
  • Grounds maintenance – Maintains grounds in clean and orderly manner including mowing, trimming, weeding, fertilizing, and maintains grounds equipment.
  • Communication - Effective written and verbal communication skills that conveys information effectively.
  • Reading Comprehension - Clearly understands written work-related documents.
  • Time Management - Managing one’s time while not negatively impacting the time of others.
  • Active Listening - Gives full attention to what other people are saying taking time to understand points being made, asking appropriate question at the appropriate times.
  • Effectively use a variety of hand and power tools, operate a forklift, skid loader and tractor.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. without restriction.

  • Any combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates ability to perform the duties listed in the required skills.
