Supply Chain Manager

LDJ Manufacturing is home to the Thunder Creek Equipment brand of premium diesel fuel and service trailers and trucks. Reporting to the Vice President, Operations, the Supply Chain Manager is responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring the company’s overall supply chain strategy to maximize process efficiencies, productivity, and customer satisfaction. This is a key role in the company’s overall success with responsibility for procurement, warehousing, and logistics.

Responsibilities

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Exhibit LDJ’s core values and culture in all aspects of the job.
  • Plan and implement the overall supply chain strategy.
  • Develop and lead a high-performing team. Actively attract and engage top talent to align with company values.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to identify and maintain resources needed for an effective supply chain.
  • Plan, manage, and coordinate all activities related to the sourcing, procurement, and storage of materials and supplies needed to meet demand. This includes negotiating contracts, pricing, terms, and lead times with suppliers.
  • Maintain adequate inventory levels to optimize production, while meeting inventory turns objectives.
  • Assess the need for material-handling equipment and staffing to ensure safe and efficient loading, unloading, movement, and storage of materials.
  • Oversee periodic physical inventory processes.
  • Develop a supplier score card that monitors the performance of suppliers in terms of quality, cost, on-time delivery, and support.
  • Monitor key industries and commodities to keep up with changes, including but not limited to availability and price.
  • Actively participate and support the team coordinating engineering changes, product line extension, and new product launches to ensure timely and orderly material and production flow. Provide information and guidance on availability and costs. Evaluate make vs. buy decisions as needed.
  • Perform supplier audits as needed.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to build and maintain accurate pricing on all BOM’s.
  • Responsible for developing and achieving supply chain KPI’s that support the greater objectives of the business.
  • Work with the sales team to determine most cost-effective and timely delivery of finished goods to customers.
  • Develop partnerships with logistics providers to deliver finished products to customers in a timely manner, while representing the core values of LDJ Manufacturing.
  • Support capacity planning efforts to support the company’s growth goals.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Manage departmental budgets and ensure compliance with company controls and policies.
  • Performs additional related duties as assigned.

  • Initiate, coordinate and enforce production, safety, and quality systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Oversees the daily workflow of the department.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a supply chain manager or relevant business experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of supply chain processes.
  • Strong servant leadership skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with a proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with suppliers, shippers, and customers.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, project management, and adaptive problem-solving skills

    Travel:
  • Ability to travel up to 10-15% of the time with a valid driver’s license.

Skilled Welder

Reporting to the Weld Manager, the Skilled Welder performs welding in a production environment that requires a top-quality candidate who is self-motivated with high energy and a team spirit attitude.

Responsibilities

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Exhibit LDJ’s core values and culture in all aspects of the job.
  • Production welding on a variety of steel parts or products.
  • Ability to perform a variety of welds in various positions.
  • Willingness to learn and grow in welding ability.
  • Other duties as management delegates.
Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent work ethic with minimum supervision and highly organized.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills that convey information effectively with a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work well with others in fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work on feet for a 10-hour shift.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. without restriction.
  • Ability to read blueprints with minimal assistance.
  • Positive attitude that will be a good cultural fit is required.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years welding experience in a production environment.
