Design Engineer - Product Development

Reporting to the Product Engineering Manager, the Design Engineer invents, designs, tests, documents, and prepares new designs for implementation using CAD tools. In addition to designing mechanical systems, this position will also work with basic electrical systems (including wiring harnesses) and hydraulic systems. This role also provides design support for the manufacturing and service team as required.

Responsibilities

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Exhibit LDJ’s core values and culture in all aspects of the job.
  • Utilize SolidWorks CAD to design and detail parts, weldments, and assemblies for products while considering product performance, reliability, manufacturability, cost, and safety.
  • Develop and maintain bill of materials (BOM).
  • Analyze design and production issues by using root cause analysis to provide solutions.
  • Support technicians and production personnel in the building and testing of prototypes.
  • Ensure documentation of test results and analysis of testing.
  • Design basic electrical systems for trailers and vehicles, including wiring harnesses.
  • Design basic hydraulic power system used for pumping fuel and other fluids.
  • Investigate opportunities on current designs to improve performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost effectiveness and implement design changes as required using the ECO process and other best practices.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to think critically to solve problems.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work with multiple functional groups to coordinate the flow of information.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask to meet deadlines and customer expectations.
  • Highly proficient in operating SolidWorks CAD software. SolidWorks Routing and Simulation (FEA) are preferred.
  • Highly proficient computer skills using Microsoft Office Suite and business software.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering (or similar field) OR
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in another field with a minimum of 5 years related experience.

Territory Sales Manager

T-2 Territory: MS, AL, GA, SC & FL

Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, this position will be responsible for leading the sales and territory development initiatives of the product line in the given territory. As a member of our professional sales team, you will develop and enhance relationships with existing dealers, dealer candidates, and customers in the Agriculture, Construction, Fuel Distribution, Transportation, and Commercial Industries.

Responsibilities
  • Build and cultivate successful distribution channels in assigned territory through dealers, distributors, and direct sales.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing dealers in the territory.
  • Communication of price programs.
  • Develop and execute business and marketing plans with assigned dealers.
  • Pursue direct sales by following up on new leads, referrals and generating new prospects via cold calling.
  • Support customers and dealers in need of warranty and product support.
  • Compiling and communicating up-to-date competitive market data relative to the industry and assigned sales territory.
  • Provide training and support to dealers in the territory.
  • Follow-up for collection of payment.
  • Direct calls to end customers.
  • Participating in product innovation initiatives when requested.
  • Keep management informed by submitting activity and results reports.
  • Monthly and Annual territory analysis and forecasts.
  • Attendance at National and Regional trade shows, seminars, and dealer events.
  • Other duties as management delegates.
Requirements

Ideal Candidate will possess the following skills/qualities:

  • Machinery background and familiarity with retail and wholesale distribution.
  • Experience successfully managing equipment dealer relationships.
  • Experience at either dealership level or with Ag/Construction machinery company.
  • Experience in developing a dealer network.
  • Excellent negotiation skills and expertise knowledge in finance close sales.
  • Highly proven interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent problem analysis and problem-solving skill set.

Education & Training:

  • Five + years of outside B2B territory sales experience.
  • Proficient computer use including Microsoft Office, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint & Excel.

Leadership Competencies:

Product Specialist

T-2 Territory: MS, AL, GA, SC & FL

Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager - Eastern Region, this position will be responsible for generating new sales in a targeted region with an emphasis on dealer retail support and new account development. As a member of our professional sales team, this role will be focused on the engagement of dealer sales staff and introducing our industry leading products to new customers in the Construction, Fuel Distribution, Transportation and Commercial Industries.

Responsibilities

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Generate sales across all product lines with an emphasis on Industrial end-users.
  • Build and cultivate successful relationships with high-value prospects in pre-defined, though not limited industry verticals:
    • Site Development

  • Work closely with LDJ Territory Sales Managers and the Regional Sales Manager to properly route transactions and ensure professional dealer relations.
  • Schedule product demonstrations (tow & show) weekly with both dealer sales staff and one-to-one with direct sale prospects.
  • Conduct training with dealer sales staff related to: Product, selling techniques (ROI) and use of sales tools (SalesHub).
  • Pursue direct sales via intensive cold calling, referrals, and local events & associations.
  • Utilize EDA business intelligence to contact new prospects.
  • Maintain and update Salesforce CRM.
  • Demonstrate effective route planning and efficient use of time to maximize opportunities.
  • Develop and execute tactical plans to increase sales.
  • Support customers in need of warranty and product support.
  • Travel beyond designated territory to assist with market development on a select basis.
  • Keep management informed by submitting activity and results reports.
  • Other duties as management delegates.
Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Construction/Industrial machinery background and familiarity with retail and wholesale distribution as well as direct sales.
  • Highly proven interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent problem analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient computer use including Microsoft Office, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint & Excel.
  • CRM experience.

Education and Experience:

  • Three plus years of sales experience.
  • Experience at either dealership level or with Construction/Industrial machinery company.
